Mile High Guard Festival

DENVER, CO – The inaugural Mile High Guard Festival (website) will take place on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Standley Lake High School (map). The day will be full of performances and clinics by leading clinicians and educators in the color guard industry. This event is a collaborative effort produced by Ascend Performing Arts and the Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association (website). Want to exhibit or sponsor this event? Contact us!

“This is a unique opportunity for young color guard performers as well as color guard educators to experience everything involved in the world of color guard, from spinning and dancing to show design  and how to get the most out of your teaching in color guard,” said Jennifer Carrasco, Board Member for the Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association.

Participants will have a special opportunity to experience many different forms of color guard through rifle, saber, flag and dance that they may not have been exposed to and open up some new possibilities.

“We are very excited to be working with the Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association and our sponsor partners in this joint effort,” said Mark Arnold, Executive Director, Ascend Performing Arts. “This will be a fun day of color guard featuring some of the best in the business.”

Festival registration/check-in starts at 8:00am, clinics and conference sessions begin at 9:00am, lunch provided at 11:00am-12:00pm, with a “show & tell” performance at 3:00pm by clinic attendees.  Event concludes at 4:00pm. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day from 10:00am-4:00pm provided by our host, the Standley Lake High School Band.
