BKXperience-Denver (Nov ’14) Camp Report

DENVER, CO – The Blue Knights held their first 3-day Audition Xperience weekend for the 2015 season which saw record attendance for November Camps for the Blue Knights. The BKXperience camp was held at Rachel B. Noel Middle School with positive reports from all areas of the Blue Knights organization.

“The beginning of a journey starts with a vision and not being afraid to take that first step,” said Blue Knights Executive Director, Mark Arnold. “This weekend gave those looking to become a member of the Blue Knights a chance to audition as well as those who want to go through the experience and learn how to be a better performer.”

This BKXperience camp also saw over a dozen members of the 2015 Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble in attendance.

“Attending this BKXperience camp with the drum corps gives members of BKPE an opportunity to learn from other instructors and make new friends,” said Ian Maxwell, a 5th year member of BKPE and 2nd year member of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps.

This is the first year the Blue Knights formally held Audition Xperience camps with a two-fold purpose–to hold auditions and educate those who wish to become better performers. This weekend’s attendance saw over 200 participants evenly balanced among brass, percussion and color guard. In addition, the level of talent was some of the best seen at Blue Knights auditions in November in recent years.
