Position Summary:
The Lead Athletic Trainer is responsible for overseeing the health, injury prevention, and rehabilitation of Blue Knights Drum Corps members. This role ensures that performers receive proper care, treatment, and conditioning to maintain peak physical performance throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including warm-ups, stretching, and conditioning routines.
- Provide immediate care and treatment for injuries sustained during rehearsals and performances.
- Assess injuries and determine appropriate courses of action, including treatment plans and referrals to medical professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
- Educate members on best practices for physical health, hydration, and injury prevention.
- Collaborate with instructional staff to modify physical demands for injured members as needed.
- Ensure all medical supplies, first aid kits, and rehabilitation tools are stocked and accessible.
- Travel with the corps during the tour, providing on-site medical support.
Qualifications:
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with current CPR and first aid certification.
- Experience working with athletes, dancers, or performers in high-impact activities.
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sports medicine practices.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills under pressure
