Ascend Announces New Volunteer Coordinator

DENVER, CO – Ascend Performing Arts is excited to announce our new Volunteer Coordinator: Laura Achilles!

Laura has called Colorado her home since 1979, living in various places along the front range. She’s a huge Denver Broncos fan and loves living in Colorado.  As far back as she can remember Laura has always volunteered in various capacities. Her love of volunteering really took root during her daughters’ high school marching band days. Weekly you could find her volunteering alongside some amazing individuals who gave of their time and talents so sacrificially.

Laura’s introduction to the Blue Knights can be attributed to her daughter, Caitlyn, who is currently a Mellophone player for the Blue Knights.  Caitlyn knew that she wanted to march for Blue Knights and since Laura is a local to the Denver area, she started volunteering very first chance she got. Laura has helped in many different areas for Blue Knights including BK Bingo, assisting at the Merchandise booth (and buying!) but mostly you’ll find her in the kitchen during monthly camps or on the food truck during the summer.

When she’s not volunteering and working for Blue Knights, you can find Laura working for Douglas County School District as a Special Education Educational Assistant. During her free time, she loves hiking and off-roading throughout Colorado with her husband David.

Please join us in welcoming Laura to the Blue Knights Family!
