DENVER, CO – Blue Knights Winds is seeking experienced percussionists and piano/keyboard players to participate in our winter 2020 production.
“Our inaugural winds season last year culminated in a second-place finish at WGI World Championships and we are looking for opportunities to integrate live performers in a rhythm section this year,” said Abe Eng, Blue Knights Winds Ensemble Director. “Musicians in our rhythm section will enjoy reduced member fees and access to high-quality equipment provided through sponsors of Ascend Performing Arts. Additionally, because there are no age limitations in winds, we are able to offer positions to individuals who have aged-out of the indoor percussion activity.”
Instruction for the rhythm section will be provided by Joe Hills, a veteran of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble.
He has a Masters of Music from the University of Missouri and is a nationally recognized composer, arraigner, music educator and drill designer. Joe is also the current president of the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association.
Blue Knights Winds performs locally as a member of the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association and will be competing at Winter Guard International Winds World Championships in Dayton, Ohio in April.
Auditions for the section will take place on December 8th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in northeast Denver. More information is available at BKWinds.org and register here.
