Staff Announcement Visual Caption Leadership

Ascend Performing Arts is pleased to announce Trevor Stojanovich as Visual Caption Head and Everett Kim as Assistant Visual Caption Head for 2024.

Trevor Stojanovich, Blue Knights new Visual Caption Head, got his start in Las Vegas. He received his bachelor’s degree in music education from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he honed his skills and developed an appreciation for music education.

Trevor’s journey in the pageantry arts grew over the years as he marched at Gold Drum & Bugle Corps (2012-2013), The Academy (2014-2015), and the Blue Devils (2016-2017). His commitment to the visual aspect of performance led him to work as a visual instructor with the Sacramento Mandarins, Gold Drum & Bugle Corps, and Pacific Crest for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

In the world of indoor percussion, Trevor was a member of Vegas Vanguard (2015) and Vessel Indoor Percussion (2019). Additionally, he became the founder and director of Sage V Percussion for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, showcasing his leadership and dedication to the art of percussion.

Trevor recently moved to Round Rock, Texas, where he took on the role of Assistant Director of Bands at Manor Senior High School.  Before transitioning to his current role, he was an instructor at Foothill High School and Liberty High School in Nevada.

Trevor is very excited about stepping into a leadership position with the Blue Knights as the Visual Caption Head. He will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual aspect of the performances and continuing the Blue Knights’ legacy of artistic innovation and excellence.

Everett Kim will be joining the Blue Knights as the Assistant Visual Caption Head. He is a marching arts educator and film composer from Manhattan Beach, California. As a performer, Everett was a member of the Pacific Crest (2015) and the Blue Devils (2016-2019) as a trumpet player and drum major. As an educator, Everett has taught marching band and independent percussion in the Southern California region and is currently teaching at Arcadia High School and Sunny Hills High School. Additional educational experience includes being on the visual instructional staff for the Blue Devils B and Meraki Percussion.

Everett received his bachelor’s degree in film scoring at Berklee College of Music and went on to receive his master’s degree in screen scoring from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. After graduating in 2022 he scored his first feature film and is currently a composer for film and television in the Los Angeles area.

Executive Director, Daniel Belcher shares his enthusiasm stating “Trevor and Everett bring a dynamic, contemporary, and exciting holistic approach to our visual educational program, with a focus on an excellent performer experience and development. We are pleased to welcome them to the Blue Knights family and continue to push for visual excellence and innovation.”

Ascend Performing Arts and the Blue Knights look forward to seeing the incredible impact Trevor and Everett will undoubtedly make in their new roles, inspiring and enriching the lives of countless performers.
