Blue Knights Announce 2019 Tour Admin Leadership

DENVER, CO – The Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps is excited to announce the administrative leadership team for the 2019 Drum Corps International Summer National Tour!


Abel Cabrera will be Blue Knights Tour Director in 2019

Abel Cabrera became involved in drum corps as a baritone player for the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps in 2014, which sparked his passion for the activity and gained his interested in the logistics behind drum corps.

This led him to become a tour operations intern with the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps in 2015. Abel found his home with the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps in 2016, where he served the corps as a Tour Admin intern and Tour Manager, and is excited to return for his 4th year in this new role as Tour Director overseeing all tour operations for the 2019 Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps.

Abel is a Spring 2015 graduate of the University of North Texas where he studied Music Education and Spanish.  While at North Texas, Abel performed with various ensembles including Concert Band, Green Brigade Marching Band where he served as section leader, and countless chamber ensembles.

Abel is currently the assistant band director at the Digital Arts and Technology Academy at John Adams Middle School in Grand Prairie, Texas. Under his baton, the Adams Concert Band earned a “1st Division” rating at the state UIL Evaluation for the first time in the ensemble’s history with straight 1’s in sight reading. Prior to his assignment at Adams Middle School, Abel served as the head director at Nolan Middle School in Killeen, Texas.


Ethan Goddard will return as the Blue Knights Operations Director for the 2019 season

 
Ethan Goddard will be the Operations Director for the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps.
 
A Blue Knights alumni, Ethan started as a tuba player in 2010 and aged out in 2013, and is a recipient of the “Blue Knight of the Year” award. Since then, he has been on the administrative team for the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, helping coordinate and run audition camps, all­ days training, and the summer national tour.  
 
Ethan graduated from Columbine High School in 2010, received an Associates of Math from Arapahoe Community College in 2014, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado in Denver.

Ethan has also assumed the role of Ensemble Manager for the Blue Knights Winds in their inaugural 2019 season.
