DENVER, CO – The Blue Knights held their 3-day Audition Xperience weekend for the 2019 season at Englewood High School. The weekend was specifically focused as a “call back” camp for brass and percussion and welcomed over 150 auditionees to the metro area.
“The level of talent that the staff has to consider every season is astounding,” said Kevin Shah, Creative Director. “It really keeps us humble and hungry as an organization when so many hardworking and talented students give up so much to come and put their best foot forward. Seeing members light up with joy as they are handed contracts is a beautiful reminder of why we do this activity and the staff and designers are energized to give the corps an amazing summer.”
This BKXperience camp was the final one for the percussion as they will not return until April Camp for those members who wish to participate in the Winter Guard International (WGI) season for the next three months.
“We were overwhelmed by the dedication and talent of all of the prospective members who were at our camp over the weekend.” said Mark Arnold, Director. ” This was the final round of auditions for the horn line and percussion which made for many difficult decisions. We humbled by the fact that these talented young people have chosen to try out for our Corps and are excited to get working on our 2019 production with collectively the most talented group of students ever to be a part of the Blue Knights.
