Blue Knights Mourn the Passing of Hall of Famer Rosalie Danskin

DENVER, CO – The Blue Knights family is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime staff member and Blue Knights Hall of Famer Rosalie Danskin. For more than three decades, Rosalie was a cherished part of the organization, helping thousands of young performers, families, staff, and volunteers along the way.

Rosalie joined the Blue Knights in the early 1990s and served as Office Manager for more than 25 years before retiring. During that time, she became a trusted presence behind the scenes, helping manage the daily operations, finances, and logistics that kept the organization moving forward.

Her responsibilities touched nearly every aspect of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. From coordinating audition registrations and maintaining member records to managing finances and communicating with staff and the Board of Directors, Rosalie helped ensure that members and their families had the support they needed.

Much of Rosalie’s work happened quietly behind the scenes. She handled demanding responsibilities with care, persistence, and a deep commitment to the organization and the people it served. Her steady presence helped sustain the Blue Knights through both rewarding and challenging times.

Beyond her official responsibilities, Rosalie was known for her kindness, quick wit, and occasional sarcasm. She had a way of making people feel welcome while keeping things in perspective. She remembered names, recognized the contributions of others, and treated members, families, staff, and volunteers with fairness and respect.

“Rosalie was at my side for over 25 years as our amazing office manager,” shared Mark Arnold, longtime Executive Director of Ascend Performing Arts. “She kept track of me, and thousands of our members, staff, alumni, and friends. Without Rosalie, I’m not certain the Blue Knights would exist today.”

Rosalie’s commitment extended well beyond the office. She was a regular donor to the Blue Knights and frequently attended rehearsals and performances, continuing to support the young people and programs she had helped sustain for so many years.

In 2019, Rosalie was inducted into the Blue Knights Hall of Fame in recognition of her extraordinary service and lasting contributions. She was honored and grateful for the recognition, joining a distinguished group of individuals whose dedication helped shape the organization’s history.

“It was a huge honor to be inducted into the Blue Knights Hall of Fame alongside Rosalie and other Blue Knights titans,” Arnold recalled. “We will miss her dearly.”

For more than three decades, Rosalie helped make the Blue Knights a place where young people could pursue their dreams and build lifelong friendships. Though her work often took place behind the scenes, her contributions helped make every rehearsal, performance, and season possible. We remember her with deep gratitude—as a trusted colleague, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of the Blue Knights family. She will be dearly missed.
