Blue Knights Host Successful November Camp

Eight months after the beginning of social distancing requirements due to the COVID pandemic, the Blue
Knights Drum and Bugle Corps is gearing up for the 2021 DCI season and is once again providing world
class education and special virtual gathering experiences for young adults interested in a Blue Knights
experience.

Over the weekend of November 21-22 Ascend Performing Arts, home of the Blue Knights Drum and
Bugle Corps, held its first virtual camp of the 2021 season. 157 eager participants attended the master
classes created by Ascend’s world-class education staff.  A special virtual gathering was created–using a
state of the art social platform–for participants to socialize on Sunday.  This platform allows participants
to easily engage one another in a virtual environment, making it easier to get to know staff, current
members, and all of the BKXperience attendees new to Ascend.

“Since BK released audition materials at the beginning of November, I felt energized in a way I
haven’t since March,” stated Blue Knights member and 2020 horn sergeant, Hannah Cussen. “I knew no
matter what, I wanted to be here. The experience really showed the staff really cares about what they
put out for us, and you could feel that energy in the room! I know I have a lot to be
grateful for.”

Daniel Belcher, Director of Member Experience had this to say, “This weekend was a
phenomenal start to the 2021 season for us, and seeing this year’s BKXperience come to life
was nothing short of inspiring and uplifting. After months of preparation, it was wonderful seeing
the Blue Knights back to doing what we do best: providing top-quality education, bringing
incredible people together, and cultivating a unique and valuable experience for everyone involved."
BKXperience participants will be scheduling private lessons with staff over the next month and another
BKXperience Masterclass is scheduled for December 19-20.

Ascend is still accepting late registrations which can be accessed using this link:  www.BKXperience.org

Wishing you all a very Happy Holidays!
