Ascend Performing Arts is excited to announce that David Walker has joined the Blue Knights family as our new Ensemble Coordinator!
David is a freelance composer, arranger, clinician and adjudicator living in Waco, Texas. As a composer and arranger, David writes music for high school and collegiate fall marching programs, including full show orchestration (winds/perc/sound design) as well as concert music for the stage. Before moving to Waco, he was a high school band/percussion director in Dallas/Fort Worth, where his ensembles placed in the top three every year of his instruction at each NTCA championship and WGI regional competition they attended. David has always remained active in his local circuit (NTCA) and has served as a member of the board of directors, as well as currently serving as the percussion steering committee chair.
David has served as the Ensemble Coordinator for Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps and is currently the instructor for the Baylor University Drum Line.
David holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University (B.M. and B.S) as well as Texas Christian University (M.M. Performance). When not working on music, he loves running and spending time with his wife and son.
