Nathan has loved music as long as he can remember. After enjoying many band and choir classes through his K-12 experience, he went on to study percussion performance and vocal music education in Kentucky at Morehead State University. During his time in college, Nathan studied percussion with Dr. Brian Mason, and served as student conductor for the Morehead State Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Greg Detweiler. He was also a member of the 2017 Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps front ensemble. After marching, he went on to teach with Jersey Surf (’18, ’19), Blue Knights Drum Corps (’20, ’21, ’22), and INov8 indoor (’19). After graduating, Nathan accepted the position as choir director at Glacier High School. Highlights of his five years at GHS included hosting original Pentatonix bass singer Avi Kaplan for a festival, and record numbers of students selected for state and regional honor choirs. He founded Bear Grass Performing Arts in 2024 for which he serves as Executive Director, and maintains a full private studio.
