Each year Ascend Performing Arts sponsors and operates our Friendship Cup marching band competition series in Colorado. This past Saturday our last of 3 competitions was held at Adams City High School in Commerce City. Previous competitions were held at Englewood and Eaton High Schools.

This Fall 36 high school bands representing over 1,400 students participated in these events. The Friendship Cup competition is organized by band size as opposed to school size and is designed to provide a positive experience for students and assist growing programs in developing the skills necessary for success.

Doug Kelley, an alumnus of our Blue Knights programs, leads the organization and success of these and other Ascend Events including Drums Along the Rockies and Corps Encore. “We wish to congratulate all of the students who participated in these events for their incredible performances and thank Doug for his tireless efforts on behalf of Ascend and the young performers we serve” stated Mark Arnold, CEO of Ascend Performing Arts.
