ENGLEWOOD, CO – The Blue Knights Drums and Bugles Corps have officially started their 2016 National Tour following the annual sendoff show on Friday, June 17.

The drum corps performed a full run “Gorgon” by Christopher Rouse, “Medley” by Elliot Goldenthal and a standstill of “Fratres” by Arvo Part.

Following the show was a performance the front ensembles piece Whirlwind and the Blue Knights Encore performance of Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.

The Send Off show was attended by over 300 guests, including family, friends, and Blue Knights alumni. The event also featured the premiere of the 2016 uniforms, props and the first publicized performance of “The Great Event” for the season.

The new custom look for the corps went hand in hand with the experience that followed as Blue Knights alumni took the field and handed dog tags to age out members. With a record number of alumni attending, the Blue Knights finished spring training with loud cheers from the crowd.

The Blue Knights started their summer tour following the sendoff show and are next slated to perform in Clovis, CA on June 24 for their first show in the West Coast Tour.
