BKPE Volunteer Sign-Up

We could not exist without the tireless effort of our many volunteers – people just like you. Team up with other friends, fans, and alumni.  Volunteering will give you the opportunity to be a close observer of the development of a championship team.

When are volunteers needed?

The Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble has volunteer opportunities from fall through spring for a variety of tasks. When we finalize our schedule for 2014/2015 you will be able to Click Here and see the times and locations of the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble camps.

How do I sign up?

To express your interest in volunteering or if you have any questions, email us at [email protected] and we’ll get back to you promptly.

Volunteer Opportunities:

There are many details that will be forthcoming about specific needs for the Percussion Ensemble season.  Please be patient until that information is finalized and released.  In the meantime, we fully expect need for volunteers in the following areas.

Driver: A driver with valid CDL license.  Will pick up rental tractor and retrieve equipment trailer from Corps Hall for transport to rehearsal or show site.  Expect at least one out of state trip, perhaps two.  Further details can be planned once rehearsal and competition schedule is released.

Kitchen Crew: Provide four meals per day – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Late Snack for about 40 members and staff.  This requires at least 2 people (a third is better and a fourth is welcomed). Most work will be at local rehearsal site or competition site.  Will need assistance on any out of state competitions attended – expect at least one.  Will need to pick up supplies from Corps Hall, Sam’s Club, and local grocery stores.  At least one person should take role of head cook/meal planner.

Uniforms: Measure members for uniforms which will be ordered.  Once delivery arrives, perform final fittings and alterations.  Perform repairs and alterations as needed through the season.

Prop Construction: Consult with the design team to devise prop design and construction schedule.  This is likely a team effort requiring multiple people.

Again, further details and needs will be fleshed out once the rehearsal and competition schedules are finalized and released.
