Welcome 2025 BKDBC Percussion Staff

                                   The Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps is excited to announce the 2025 Percussion Leadership Team.

Taha Ahmed will be joining the team as the Percussion Caption Supervisor.

Taha received his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, he resides in the Houston area where he works with Cy-Fair and Clear Brook High Schools. He is also an active instructor, consultant, arranger, designer, and rudimental private lesson teacher at numerous other schools in the area. When Taha is not teaching, he is working as a Licensed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.

Beyond the scholastic level, Taha has multiple years of drum corps experience including being the battery caption head for The Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps for the past 4 years. Prior to that, Taha was a snare tech with the Blue Knights from 2016 through 2019, and a snare tech at Spirit of Atlanta in season.

Taha was a snare drummer at Bluecoats 2012, Academy 2011, Santa Clara Vanguard 2010, and the Troopers in 2009 and 2008. During his drum corps career, Taha was privileged to learn from instructors such as Mike Jackson, Murray Gusseck, Ralph Hardimon, Glen Crosby, Roger Carter, Eric Shriver, Matt Ramey, Jim Ragsdale, Kevin Welborn, Rick Barclay, Derrick Fields, and Brian Stevens.

In the indoor scene, Taha has also experienced multiple seasons of success as an instructor. Taha is currently the Program Coordinator, Visual Designer, and Battery Coordinator for Monarch Independent Percussion. He has been working with Monarch since their inaugural season in 2015. He is also currently on staff at: Cy-Fair HS (PSW), Clear Brook HS (PSW), and Bridgeland HS (PSW). Taha was the Battery Coordinator and Movement Specialist for the 2014 WGI Independent A Gold Medalist, Lone Star Independent.

Aundray Edwards joins the Blue Knights as the Battery Coordinator in 2025. 

Aundray received his Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Houston. Aundray has been a percussion specialist/technician/consultant for several music programs in Houston and surrounding areas, including Cypress Creek, Cy-Fair, Brazoswood, Paetow, The Woodlands College Park, and The Woodlands High Schools. 

Aundray has extensive percussion performance experience ranging from DCI to the Collegiate world. While attending UH he was a part of all the performing ensembles, including the wind ensemble and symphony orchestra. His further performance experience includes the Moores School Percussion Ensemble winning PAS call for tapes (‘10), and marching snare drum with the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps (‘10). 

During the indoor season, Aundray has been involved with Monarch Independent since 2016 and currently serves as a Battery Manager. Aundray has also served on the percussion staff of the Sacramento Mandarins (‘20-’24), Colts (’17-’19) as well as the Guardians (’15-’16).

Dominique “Chochy” Lousteau III  steps into the role of Front Ensemble Coordinator. 

Chochy is a percussionists, arranger/composer, and educator from Luling, Louisiana. Chochy received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Music and Philosophy from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Currently, he resides in Shreveport, LA with his wife, Aimee, and their cat, Velcro.
Chochy has had many experiences in the marching arts; he began as a front ensemble member for Elite Independent and the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. He then went on to perform with Monarch Independent, marched with the Boston Crusaders front ensemble, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Pride of Acadiana Drumline, and several seasons with Fat City Drum Corps (New Orleans Saints).

During his time in college and drum corps, Chochy was fortunate to have studied under many great instructors such as Dr. Iain Moyer, Dr. Brett Landry, Andy Filipiak, and Troy Breaux. He has continued his career as an instructor/administrator for several groups.

Chochy is currently the Ensemble Director for Monarch Independent and has served as a front ensemble instructor for the Sacramento Mandarins. He also teaches at Parkway HS as well as Centenary College. Chochy was also fortunate to instruct at Cy-Fair HS in 2022 and 2023 where the group received several accolades such as TCGC State Champions and WGI Percussion Scholastic World Class Finalist. 

Rounding out the percussion team includes: Brandon Hussey, Tony Cook, Will Araamyan, Sean Fitze, Shane Rodrick, Ryan Zeutzius, Chap Obregon, Anthony Rodriguez, Gabe Sanchez, Jordan Masters, Chandler Long, Maggie Thibodeaux, and Sammie Rogers. For all staff bios click here!
