Tour Admin
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support for Blue Knights DBC as they train in Denver and travel across the country on their national tour.
Athletic Trainer
Health Assistant
Work closely with the licensed Athletic Trainer and provide support in injury prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Blue Knights DBC performers.
Culinary
Foodservice Assistant
Provide assistance to the Food Program Manager. Opportunities during the Blue Knights DBC camp season and on tour.
Media
Capture the Moment
Assist the Communications Director creating, developing, and implementing video, social media posts, and photography.
Driver
Van Shuttles
Drive an auxiliary vehicle for the Blue Knights DBC. Must have a clean driving record and be 25 years of age or over.
Merchandise
Merchandise Assistant
Assist the merchandise team with the merchandise booth, customer service, selling merchandise and inventory.
Office
Administrator
Provide administrative support in our Denver, CO office. Organizational skills and comfort with communication and technology.
Tour Admin Intern
The Tour Admin Intern will be the main service support for Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and provide administrative assistance for Spring Training and Summer Tour while reporting to the Tour Director. The position requires a highly motivated individual who looks to develop their administrative abilities in working with a world class performing arts program. Working with the drum corps as an intern is a fast paced job, requiring high energy with diverse tasks being performed each day. Although this is an unpaid position that provides valuable experience, a stipend may be offered depending on experience of the applicant.
Requirements
- 21 years or older.
- Valid drivers license with good driving record.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Own your own laptop with knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Available for entire summer mid-May – mid-August.
- Preferred experience/knowledge of drum corps, marching band or indoor activity is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Assist admin team with logistics of camps, spring training and tour including facility awareness/oversight during move-in, stay and check-out.
- Assist transportation of staff & members to and from airports, medical appointments and general running of errands.
- Assist kitchen team with daily grocery shopping, inventory of supplies, and food deliveries includes help with restocking of weekly orders.
- Assist with general administrative record keeping, filing and preparation of tour books.
- Assist with logistics of uniform cleaning, equipment storage and general performance needs.

Athletic Trainer Intern
Requirements
- 18 years or older.

- Available for entire summer mid-May – mid-August.

- Actively enrolled in an Athletic Training Program
- CPR/First Aid certified
Responsibilities
- Assist athletic trainer during training camps, all-days training and national tour.
- Assist with injury recognition, rehabilitative care, providing first responder care and general medical management of the performer athlete.

Culinary Intern
The Culinary Intern will work closely with the Food Manager and other volunteer cook team for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. This internship will be for one week and weekend a month (Nov-Apr) during Blue Knights Audition camps. The Culinary intern will learn everything there is to learn about managing food service for over 200 people during these audition camps.
Requirements
18 years or older.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Own your own laptop with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Available for one full week and weekend of entire audition camp season (or portion of) November-April
Preferred experience/knowledge of drum corps, marching band or indoor activity is helpful but not required
Responsibilities
Pre-camp:
- Develop a meal plan to feed 7 meals over the course of a camp weekend. Meals must also include choices for special dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, GF, DF, etc.).
- Use the menu to develop a shopping list. This shopping list will also include other incidentals necessary to make the weekend successful. A list of incidentals will be provided.
- Shop with Food Manager for items, perishable and non-perishable.
At camp (Friday early evening):
- Take pictures of the entire kitchen and tape off all host school equipment. Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps use their own equipment.
- Unload box truck and load and organize into the kitchen (volunteers and attendees will assist with this).
- Prep the cafeteria area, setting up serving tables, a PB&J area, and a beverage area.
- Clean, prepare and fill the juice and water cooler and keep them filled during the camp.
- Cook menu planned meals. Assign food prep tasks to volunteers, referring them to recipes and/or handing out recipes to the volunteers.
- At camps end (Sunday) use volunteer help to load box trucks and clean kitchen and cafeteria areas.

Development Intern
The Development Intern assists the Director of Development with creating, developing, and implementing marketing materials and mailings. They also assist (as necessary) with the implementation of new fundraising strategies. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, web and social media desired. This position also assists with the development of a comprehensive communications strategy and follow through including print, digital, social media channels, and website management.
Great opportunity for a college student seeking a part-time job which can grow to full time career in the performing arts!

Looking for individual with Development or fund raising knowledge or willing to learn.
Have Bachelor’s Degree in an arts-related field, nonprofit management or fundraising.
Be experienced in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, donor data base systems such as Network For Good, Colorado Gives, and business and nonprofit email platforms such as Constant Contact, etc.
Be an efficient and organized manager of time and myriad details.
Be a Blue Knights Alumni or someone who is familiar with the performing arts.

Media Intern
Ascend Performing Arts is now accepting applications for Multimedia Interns for the winter and summer seasons.
The Media Intern assists the Director of Communications with creating, developing, and implementing various video, social media and photography work for promotional use.
They will have the opportunity to cover various events with the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble, the Blue Knights Winds, and Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps. This position may also assist with the development of comprehensive communications and marketing strategy and follow-through including print, digital, social media channels, and website management. The Media Intern will work both independently and as a member of the Media Team.
Predominant work will be assisting with Blue Knights ensembles and Ascend Events. Ascend internships are built to be flexible, make this internship your own in a fun environment to work on projects you wish to pursue!
An ideal applicant would have experience in media production with an emphasis on video and photography work.

Expectations

Requirements
18 years or older.
Looking for individuals with videography and photography knowledge and a willingness to learn.
Currently enrolled or about to be enrolled in a media-related field at the college level, including degrees in journalism, communications, film studies, photography or similar area of study.
Experience and accessibility to Adobe Products is a must. Products including Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom. Experience in Adobe After Effects is a bonus.
Be an efficient worker and meet deadlines.
Prefer candidates who are familiar with DCI or WGI experience. College student needing flexible internship with potential room for advancement encouraged to apply.
Experience in social media management and development.

- Gather and produce media at various Blue Knights ensemble rehearsals and Ascend Events.

Auxiliary Vehicle Driver
We’re looking for a safe, courteous 15-passenger Van driver who values a predictable schedule. Our organization makes safety our number one priority, which is reflected in our impeccable safety record.
No special license or CDL license is needed. Just a standard driver‘s license with a clean driving record. Must be 25 or over. This is considered a volunteer position and is unpaid however, we may cover transportation expenses to get you to and from tour.
Requirements
25 years or older.
- Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Driver’s license in good standing.
- No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years.
- No DWI/DUI in last 10 years.
- Willing to submit to a Background Check.
Responsibilities
- Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
- Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business.
- Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
- Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management.

MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT
The merchandise assistant will travel with the Blue Knights merchandise team in the summer. The Blue Knights merchandise team travels alongside the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps and sells merchandise in support of the corps. The job of the merchandise assistant is to work with the Merchandise Manager in the merchandise booth, assisting with set up, tear down, customer service, selling merchandise, taking inventory counts, assessing sales trends and communicating with the Director of Merchandise to ensure a successful selling experience. The merchandise team is a close-knit group so any member of the team must be a team player.

Office Administrative Intern
Ascend Performing Arts is looking for a motivated, energetic person to provide general data entry and office support in our Denver home office! Depending upon applicant, flexible office hours may be considered.
The ideal candidate should be energetic with great communication skills. Comfortable with computers (experience with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and QuickBooks). An affinity with music and education a plus. The above job duties represent a small sampling of what you may be asked to do on any given day.
