Justin is an Arizona Native who has been involved in the marching arts just shy of 20 years. After aging out from the Arizona Academy in 2012, he was hired onto the Mandarins DBC visual staff in 2013. During His time with the Mandarins, Justin was part of a team that took their 23rd place visual proficiency program to 7th in 2019. Justin also worked as the assistant caption head for the 2014,2015, and 2016 seasons, and split time with the Arizona Academy as a visual staff member in 2015. In 2023 Justin became the drill designer for the Govenaires DBC who went on to take bronze at DCA finals.Â

While in Arizona Justin worked with multiple award winning ensembles including Div 2 state champions Gilbert high school, BOA Regional finalist Corona del sol high school, WBA finalist Basha high school,  State finalist Millennium high school, WGAZ gold PIA and PIO gold medalist Vision percussion and was a visual analysis judge in the WGAZ circuit.Â

In 2020 Justin Moved to Houston Texas to work with James E. Taylor and clear creek high schools, and eventually settled down in Minnesota where he has been able to work with Hutchinson high school, east view high school, and has been a Minnesota percussion association visual analysis judge at state championships.Â

Currently Justin is the Artistic Director of the Govenaires Winter percussion ensemble and finishing his degree in Organizational leadership project management at ASU. In the small window no band is happening, Justin and his partner Mandy Rae attend baseball games, musicals, and museums.
