Alex Morris
Alex Morris is an active performer and educator from Exton, Pennsylvania. They spent their
years following high school at West Chester University, studying trumpet under professors Rob
Skoniczin and Jean-Christophe Dobrzelewski. During their time at West Chester University,
Alex performed with many of the university’s ensembles. Most notably, the WCU Wind
Ensemble, the Criterions, the WCU Brass Ensemble, and the WCU Orchestra. They also have a
variety of chamber and solo playing experience, having recorded multiple small ensemble and
solo works, as well as giving two solo recitals.
In the realm of marching arts, Alex has performed with multiple world class organizations on
trumpet, and in colorguards. Such organizations include Amp Winterguard (2022-2024), the
Sacramento Mandarins (2022), the Bluecoats colorguard (2023), the Bluecoats hornline (2024)
and Fusion Winterguard (2025-present). Prior to this, Alex marched with the Hawthorne
Caballeros from 2017-2021 on trumpet. They have instructed a variety of high schools in the
Southeastern Pennsylvania area, having a mainstay as a color guard instructor at Bayard-Rustin
High School. As well as being a trumpet technician and movement/visual instructor for the
Hawthorne Caballeros in 2025.
Alex will reprise both roles for the Caballeros this upcoming season, as well as earning a new role as a movement specialist for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.
