Henry Ives is a San Francisco-based percussionist, educator, composer, and software engineer. He graduated from Colorado State University and attended the master’s program at California Institute of the Arts, studying music composition and computer science under Dr. Eric Hollenbeck, Dr. James David, Clay Chaplin, Tim Feeney, and Celia Hollander. He has marched and taught at groups such as the Blue Knights, Carolina Crown, Mandarins, and Broken City Percussion, and has performed in drumlines for the Los Angeles Chargers, the Los Angeles Kings, and the San Francisco 49ers.

He currently teaches at Broken City Percussion, drums with the 49ers drumline, works as a software engineer at Google, and composes chamber music.
