Jacob Diewald currently serves as an Assistant Band Director at Prosper High School where he has been since the fall of 2025. The Prosper Mighty Eagle Band has had success on the Regional, State, and National Stages. In the fall of 2025, The Prosper Band became 6A State Finalists for the first time in school history. Concert ensembles under his direction consistently earn superior ratings, and he serves as one of the facilitators of the Prosper ISD All-District Jazz Ensemble.

From 2019 to 2026, Mr. Diewald taught on the Phantom Regiment Brass Staff and marched with The Santa Clara Vanguard in the 2016 and 2018 seasons. He previously served as Assistant Band Director at Plano Senior High and Clark High School in Plano ISD. In the 2024–2025 school year, the Plano Jazz Ensemble was a Commended Winner of the Citation of Excellence award, and the Plano Jazz Collective placed 2nd in the Non-Varsity Division at the TCU Jazz Festival.

Mr. Diewald graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Jazz Studies Certificate. At Texas Tech, he performed with the TTU Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra, competed in both solo and ensemble rounds at the National Trumpet Competition, and served as a section leader in the Goin’ Band From Raiderland. His primary teachers were Dr. Andrew Stetson, Dr. Sarah McKoin, Dr. Eric Allen, Dr. Ben Haugland, Professor Steven Jones, Dr. Jacqueline Henninger, and Professor Jenny Dees. From 2021-2025, Mr. Diewald served as one of the Camp Administrators for the Texas Tech University Band and Orchestra Camp.

Outside of teaching, Mr. Diewald is an active freelance trumpet player in the DFW area, performing regularly with The Baba Yaga Orkestar, Mellophonics, and other performing groups in the area. He has also served as a consultant, clinician, and adjudicator for programs around Texas. Mr. Diewald has professional affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Jazz Educators Association.
