Rosie Miller Queen
Rosie Queen is a seasoned figure in the world of pageantry since 1983. For 16 impactful years, she directed Carmel H.S., transforming it into a powerhouse that clinched 5 WGI World Championships, 8 IHSCGA State Championships, and 5 BOA Grand National titles.
Rosie’s influence extends to world-class programs like Pride of Cincinnati, Center Grove H.S., Aimachi, Avon H.S., Carroll H.S., Bluecoats Indoor, and Escapade WG. Notably, she led the visual aspects of the Emmy and Tony award-winning production, “blast!” from 1999-2002. Her expertise also reached Drum Corps International (DCI), contributing to The Bluecoats, The Cadets of Bergen County, Cavaliers, Carolina Crown, and Madison Scouts.
Beyond accolades, Rosie is passionate about “teaching the teachers,” evident in her role as Education Director for the WGASC (Winter Guard Association of Southern California) circuit. She’s a key player in Winter Guard International (WGI), serving on the advisory board, WGI Board of Directors (since 2010), and as the WGI Executive Board’s secretary since 2014.
The WGI Hall of Fame welcomed her in 2023.
Recently making the move from Indianapolis to Southern California with her husband, Jeff, and their dog, Indy, Rosie continues to impact teaching, designing, and adjudicating. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (K-12) from Wright State University and is certified in Event Management from IUPUI in Indianapolis.
