Prop Manager

Position Summary:
The Prop Manager is responsible for overseeing the transportation, maintenance, setup, and breakdown of all props used in the Blue Knights Drum Corps production. This role ensures that all props are performance-ready, safely handled, and efficiently moved during rehearsals and competitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the transportation, storage, and setup of props for all rehearsals and performances.

  • Work closely with the design and instructional staff to ensure props function as intended.

  • Manage a team of volunteers or prop crew members for efficient on-field setup and removal.

  • Ensure all props are maintained, repaired, and safe for use throughout the season.

  • Assist with prop construction, modifications, and improvements as needed.

  • Oversee loading and unloading of props into equipment trucks, ensuring secure transportation.

  • Communicate regularly with the Tour Director and Corps Manager regarding prop logistics.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and DCI guidelines for prop usage and transportation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in stage production, construction, or logistics preferred.

  • Ability to lift and transport large or heavy objects.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Experience managing a team of volunteers or crew members.

Familiarity with tools and basic construction techniques is a plus.
