Corey Castillo is a musician and marching arts educator based in Austin, Texas. From 2018 to 2023, Corey was a member of the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps as a mellophone player and head drum major, and received the 2022 Blue Devil of the Year award. More importantly, the development of leadership and life skills is a process that Corey shares with his students as a staff member of the Vista Ridge High School and Austin High School marching bands. He has taught numerous marching programs in the Los Angeles area and is excited to be joining the visual staff of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps. In the digital world, Corey collaborates with Silent Command in hosting and producing The 8 to 5 Club, a podcast for leaders in the marching arts. Corey is a graduate student at the UT Austin Butler School of Music and holds a bachelor’s degree in bassoon performance from UCLA.
