Javi Garza is an active educator, clinician, adjudicator and performer in the West Texas area. Javi first began his DCI career in 2019 performing with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps. In 2021, Javi was the center marimba for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps where he also earned 4th place in DCI’s I&E Keyboard competition. Javi aged out with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in 2022 as well as aging out with Broken City Indoor Percussion in 2023. Since 2019, Javi has been studying Percussion Performance and Music Education at Texas Tech University where he studies under Dr. Lisa Rogers and Dr. Michael Mixtacki. Since then, Javi has also taught front ensembles and private lessons in schools all throughout Texas and California such as McAllen Memorial HS, Economedes HS, Lubbock Cooper HS, Frenship HS, West Plains HS, Lockney HS, Ropesville ISD, John W. North HS and many others. This will be Javi’s 2nd year working with the Blue Knights.
