Sammi Rogers
Sammi Rogers is a music educator and percussionist based out of the Austin area.
She has been extensively involved in the pageantry arts throughout her life, competing for over 7 years. Her performance experience includes the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, Academy, Boston Crusaders, Violet Crown Independent, Monarch Independent, and Music City Mystique. She spent her first season teaching drum corps in 2023 with River City Rhythm, serving as a front ensemble technician.
Other previous percussion performance experience includes the Texas State Bobcat Marching Band, the Texas State University Symphonic Winds, and the Texas State Symphony Orchestra. During the 2020-2021 school year, she also won the Texas State Concerto Competition, where she had the opportunity to perform solo with the orchestra.
She currently teaches elementary music in Leander ISD, as well as the front ensemble at Glenn High School for marching and indoor season. Since teaching at Glenn, they have won 2 TCGC State Championships. She holds a B.M. in Music Studies from Texas State University, with an emphasis in instrumental education.
In her free time, Sammi plays with Texas Roller Derby under the name “Rhea Sunshine”, plays video games, and hangs out with her pet cat named Mochi.
