DENVER, CO – Blue Knights Winds is excited to announce music staff for the 2020 season.
Under the leadership of music caption head Thomas Kober, this year’s Blue Knights Winds group will benefit from veteran music educators from diverse backgrounds.
Instructors for the music caption include the following:
Dr. Louie Lugo will join as the Assistant Music Caption Head for the 2020 season.
Dr. Louie Lugo is a professional trombonist and educator with Doctorate and Master’s Degrees of Music (ABD) from Florida State University in Trombone Performance with emphasis in Brass Pedagogy and Educational Psychology.
Louie has a passion for music and is excited to join the educational team at Blue Knights Winds.
Mark Wolocki will return as a Music Instructor for the 2020 season.
Mark Woloki is the Associate Director of Bands at William J. Brennan High School.
Mark has a Master’s Degree in Clarinet Performance from Louisiana State University and Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College.
Mark is returning for his second year with Blue Knights Winds.
Brandon Day will be a Music Instructor for the 2020 season.
Brandon Day is the Director of Bands at Burleson High School.
He has taught with V2 Winds and Azle High School Winds and is on the executive board for North Texas Colorguard Association.
Brandon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of North
Texas.
Jake Archibeque will return as a Music Instructor for the 2020 season.
Jake is a Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps alumnus and a music major at the University of Colorado.
Jake teaches locally with a number of marching programs and is returning for his second year with Blue Knights Winds.
Blue Knights Winds Director Abe Eng had the following to say about the 2020 music staff.
“We are fortunate to have music educators with a wealth of experience working with musicians at the highest levels of the competitive marching arts teaching with us this year. Members of the Blue Knights will be receiving music training on par with that of world class concert musicians and will learn to bring that same level of musicality to a program that includes multiple visual demands.”
Blue Knights Winds is in the process of finalizing their membership for the 2020 season.
There are still flute and clarinet positions available to experienced musicians, and Blue Knights Winds will be holding auditions for it’s rhythm section on December 8th.
