DENVER, CO – The Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps is excited to announce Tracy Carter as the Color Guard Caption Head for the 2021 season!
Tracy Carter is a native of Jackson, MS where she attended and graduated from Jackson Academy High School. During and after high school, she marched as a color guard member for various WGI and DCI organizations including Spirit of JSU, and Phantom Regiment.
A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Carter received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Oboe Performance as well as a minor in dance. While at USM, she was color guard choreographer and captain as well as principal oboist for the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, she completed her Master’s Degree in Conducting.
Tracy Carter is currently the head Junior High Band Director at Biloxi Junior High in Biloxi, MS. Her duties also include directing the outdoor and indoor color guard programs. Her color guards have won multiple marching band and indoor circuit Championships. Carter is an active choreographer, designer, clinician, and judge throughout the state and the greater southeast and maintains an active performance schedule with various orchestras and wind bands regionally.
Ms. Carter has served as the Color Guard Caption and Program Coordinator for Southwind and Music City Drum and Bugle Corps. She is also the director and founder of Conversion winter guard, an Independent World Winter Guard based out of Jackson, Mississippi that is a frequent WGI Regional Finalist.
