The Blue Knights are thrilled to announce that Zach Carrasco has joined the 2024 staff as our new Choreographer. Noe Gomez, Visual Designer, expressed his enthusiasm for the addition: “I could not be happier to bring Zach to the Blue Knights! Zach has always had a diligent approach to choreography. His adaptable and creative nature allows his choreography to speak beyond the activity norms. We have and will continue to lean heavily on his expertise to help move the ensemble in a new direction. The Blue Knights will look very different in 2024 as Zach puts his artistic touch to everything we do!”
Zach Carrasco, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, has become a full-time educator and designer since relocating to Southern California. His extensive experience includes working with numerous marching bands, drum corps, and indoor percussion ensembles as a designer, drill writer, choreographer, and visual marching/movement specialist. Zach graduated from California State University Long Beach in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music degree in performance, which has allowed him to also work as a freelance musician and private instructor. In 2023, he earned a Master’s in Education and a certified California Teaching Credential.
Currently, Zach serves on the visual staff at The Concord Blue Devils and RCC Indoor Percussion and is the Visual Designer for Dark Sky Percussion. He is also the Program Coordinator and Visual Caption Head at Ruben S. Ayala High School in California.
Zach’s performance background includes being a member of the Concord Blue Devils from 2012 to 2015, Vanguard Winter Percussion in 2013, and RCC Indoor Percussion in 2016.
The Blue Knights are confident that Zach Carrasco’s expertise and innovative approach will significantly impact our ensemble’s future. We eagerly anticipate the fresh perspectives and creative energy he will bring to our 2024 season. Stay tuned for an exciting year as Zach’s artistic vision unfolds.
