Kelsey Mitchell
Kelsey Mitchell was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and started her colorguard career at Sandra Day O’Connor HS in 2011 after being in dance classes since the age of three. After graduating high school, Kelsey went on to perform with the Arizona State University colorguard and Fenix Independent World winterguard from 2013-2018. Kelsey also had the opportunity to be a part of the Blue Knights colorguard for her age out year in 2016.
In 2014 Kelsey discovered her love of teaching when she became the Colorguard Caption Head at her alma mater, and has since been teaching there for 10 years. Under her direction, the program has flourished and expanded into multiple award winning teams, and her students have gone on to march in various world class winterguards and drum corps. In addition to colorguard, Kelsey has also taught dance and yoga to all skill levels and ages ranging from 18 months to 81 years.
Kelsey has a strong passion for movement therapy and is pursuing her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
