Position – Certified Athletic Trainer

Certified Athletic Trainer

The Certified Athletic Trainer for the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps is tasked with working to help prevent, diagnose, and treat the injuries of the Blue Knights’ athletic performers, as well as provide first response care when needed, and general medical management. The Certified Athletic Trainer will be managing the other members of the summer season medical staff, including a potential athletic training intern. Working with a drum corps is a fast paced job, requiring high energy with diverse tasks being performed each day.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and Google Workspace.
  • Available for the entire summer: mid-May through mid-August.
  • Experience/knowledge of drum corps, marching band, or indoor marching activities is preferred but not required.
  • Holds current ATC certification.
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Willing to submit to a Background Check.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the summer medical team, which may include nurses, EMTs, paramedics, potentially other certified athletic trainers, and athletic training interns.
  • Provide injury recognition, rehabilitative care, providing first response care, and general medical management of the performer athletes.
